Adjacent communities are large Spiraea alba shrubland occupying 90% of the wetland center and a forest edge with Picea (native?), planted red pine, and fir (Abies fraseri?). Upland slopes are northern hardwoods.;Narrow "wetland margin" zone at edge of forest at slope bottom with seepage. Kept open at least in part by beaver harvest of spruce saplings. Community dominated by Vaccinium myrtilloides with mostly upland acidiphile species. Soil features identify this as a wetland.
